About me
I'm Rachel Sautner, a passionate and creative marketing professional
with over 7 years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing in the automotive industry. I have been employed at my current company as their first Marketing professional for several years, and have strengthened their brand identity and built their marketing strategy from the ground up. Throughout the years, I have had the pleasure of networking with industry professionals and collaborating on freelance projects with them.
With a versatile marketing skill set, I have worn many hats across my professional career. Web development and copywriting, graphic design, social media content creation, email marketing, video scripting and editing, and print and digital ad management are examples of the various marketing facets I have been involved with and successful in executing.
In my free time, I love to draw and paint, travel, spend time in nature, read about several of my “nerdy” interests, and spend time with my dog. Please feel free to contact me to further discuss my background and qualifications, and I look forward to connecting with you!

Portfolio
Welcome to my new portfolio as of September 2024! New content coming regularly.
Digital Business Cards
Physical, paper business cards are a staple among many industries, but come with a couple caveats; often, individuals forget to bring them with them on business excursions, and there are recurring costs that come with reordering cards when supply runs low. Digital Business Cards are an idea I pitched to my employer that would rectify both of those issues. People always remember to bring their phones with them, and they never run out of uses.

ProbiAir Branding
ProbiAir is a startup company that designs, manufactures, and distributes vehicle mounted cleaning systems for the commercial vehicle industry. I collaborated with the managing director to rebrand a preexisting product, as a new, improved iteration debuted. I created their new logo and all visual brand identity elements, such as color scheme, typefaces, etc. I designed and wrote the copy for product information sheets to compliment the product launch. In the future, I intend to continue collaboration with them to develop their website and create new marketing assets, such as trade show displays and additional customer facing materials.

Allegiance Poster
I designed this poster to promote Allegiance, a musical that revolves around the Japanese internment camps in America during WWII. This project's guidelines requrired me to hand render around 70% of the elements and arrange and edit them digitally. I tea-stained an American flag, photographed my colleague and digitally traced his silhouette, painted the background in the silhouette with watercolor, and ripped and stained the papers in the top and bottom of the design. I chose to destruct the American flag to represent this shameful era in Amrican history. I designed a dark, muddled pattern for the silhouette to represent the despair and stress the Japanese Americans must have felt. I added barbed wire to symbolize the internment camps and chose a script font to offset the grunginess of the overall design.

Magazine Spread
I found an article online regarding the danger of water pollution, so I designed two adjacent magazine pages to accentuate the message of the article. The dirtiness of the paper over the oil slick pattern background visually reinforces the idea of pollution, and the grungy fonts command attention while working into the overall design. The tears in the paper and the angled text on the left page ""attack"" the organic water drop design, and show that the earth has literally been turned upside down by destructive human activity.

Wedding Invitation Suite
After my freelance clients were happy with our work together on the Save the Dates, I took on creating their wedding invitation suite, including the invitation, details card, RSVP card, and accessories. I worked with their budget on cost-saving options, including minimizing envelope weight/thickness for postage, and creating personalized links and QR codes for digital RSVP’s.

Witching Hour Package Design
For this project, I had to create my own brand for a beverage and design the packaging for a 4 pack. I chose to go with a witchy theme based off of the idea of brewing beer and my personal preference of horror/ grunge design. The alliteration motif appears in the name of each of these beers; Effervescent Elixir, Ethereal Elixir, Efflorescent Elixir, and Evocative Elixir. Historically, the Witching Hour is the occult belief that refers to the time at which creatures, such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful. Black magic is thought to be most effective at this time. The period lasts from 3 AM to 4 AM, when there are no Catholic church services and prayers, as marked by the Canonical hours. The lore on the back label of these beers alludes to the idea of demons becoming active at 3:00 am, which can be faintly seen on the moon logo. I deliberately chose the shape of these bottles, as I found them unique and thought they looked like they would contain potion. Additionally, I tied the neck labels on with twine and corked the bottles instead of capping them to stick with my unique and witchy theme.

Direct Mailers
I have distributed hundreds of thousands of EDDM Postcards over the past few years. This is one example; I select the EDDM routes, create succinct copy that highlights unique selling points, design attention grabbing graphics, and coordinate through a third party printer to get them distributed to our areas of interest.
Typically, mailers do not generate reliable attribution data; I included a specific tracking phone number and unique redirect link to better monitor activity generated from thes mailers. Further iterations of mailers will include a QR codes with a links that passes UTM campaign, medium, and source into the company’s contact form.
